André Akinyele is the founder and owner of Ajamu, a pioneering software and gaming development company. Akinyele, the lead software engineer and developer, methodically develops software, gaming, and web applications within the company’s programming and special gaming products. Akinyele has developed numerous social media apps, websites, and gaming apps including Chicken Scratch™ and Primitive Aliens™. Akinyele began his career in Alexandria, Virginia working as an independent software engineer, developer, designer, and programmer, and in 2015 enrolled in the University of Maryland University College (UMUC) Master’s degree in Information Technology program where he studied modern software methodologies, relational database systems, software design implementation, software engineering, software requirements, software verification and validation, and usability engineering. In 2015, Akinyele founded Ajamu to develop, design, program, test, and modify secure gaming, software, and web applications on various platforms, including in the Cloud. As the owner, Akinyele has worked on projects, not only for the company but for the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), Paisley Park, Esperanza Spalding, Miles Davis Estate, and Mark of the Unicorn (MOTU). In 2017, Akinyele graduated with a Master of Science degree in Information Technology: Software Engineering from UMUC and is an honorary society member of Upsilon Pi Epsilon (UPE). He is presently a musician and recording artist for Orange River Records, an author for Orange River Books, and graphic designer with Akinyele Design Firm. As an author, he co-authored the best-selling book, Elliptical: The Music of Meshell Ndegeocello (2015) and authored the forthcoming book, The Methods Behind Software Engineering and Development (2018). The second book contains essays written as a student on various methods studied while in college. He received a grade “A” on every essay on topics of modern software methodologies including the Waterfall method, Rational Agile Development (RAD) method, SCRUM method, Extreme Programming (XP) method, Unified Process (UP) method, Project Management-Evolutionary (EVO) method, Lean Software Development method, Test-Driven Development method, Feature-Driven Development method, Crystal method, Rational Unified Process (RUP) method, and Dynamic Systems Development method. Akinyele is also the founder and owner of Akinyele Design Firm and the Orange River enterprise which comprises a recording label, book publishing company, and film production company. In 2014, the Orange River brand incorporated Akinyele’s other companies Bombay Recording Company established in 1998 and Pearl Jazz Recording label established in 2005. Akinyele holds an Associate of Arts degree in Music Technology from Foothill College, a Bachelor of Science in Legal Studies and Master of Science in Information Technology (IT): Software Engineering from University of Maryland University College (UMUC). Additionally, he has a Paralegal Certification from Howard University and Waves Audio Technician Certification from Foothill College.
